This page lists the cookies and browser storage IQTests uses. We keep the list short on purpose: essentially what’s needed to run the test and remember a preference, and nothing built for advertising.
What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a site can save in your browser; local storage is a similar, slightly larger space browsers provide. Both let a site remember something between page loads — like the result you just got — without sending it to a server.
What IQTests uses
- Essential storage. Small values that let the test run smoothly and, if you wish, show you your most recent result when you return. These stay on your device.
- Preferences. Any setting you choose (for example, a display preference) is remembered locally so you don’t have to set it again.
- Aggregate analytics (if enabled). Where used, this is limited, privacy-respecting, and aggregate — it tells us how many people use the site, not who you are.
What we don’t use
No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, and no third-party marketing profiles. We’re not in the business of following you around the web.
Managing them
You’re always in control. Every major browser lets you view, block, or delete cookies and clear local storage from its settings, and clearing them simply resets the test’s local values — the test still works. How this connects to your personal data is covered in our privacy policy and terms of use.
Changes
If our use of cookies changes, we’ll update this page and the date below. Questions can go through our contact page.
